I had collected quite a bit of commission on my catalogue and was looking to treat the children with it when I spotted this lovely picnic set and although it says for age three and over new my 2 year old daughter would love it as she loves pretend play and peppa pig.

I do think it was rather over priced for what it is but then isn't everything that comes from a catalogue or has the pepper pig brand.

The picnic basket in the picture looks like it is wicker so I was a bit worried that my two year old would pick it to pieces in no time as she had done to my washing basket so was really happy to find when it arrived that it wasn't wicker at all but plastic moulded to look like wicker, this has also made it easy to clean too as a quick wipe and its like new.

Along with the basket you get a tea pot, milk jug, sugar bowl, three cups, saucers and spoons as well as a picnic mat so it is quite a squeeze to fit it all back in the basket and my two year old cant do this alone so a little help is required but my 8 year old has no trouble organising it to fit back in.

My three daughters have had hours of fun playing with this so was well worth the money, it is durable so has lasted really well and still looks brand new despite a lot of use. I love the fact it can all be packed away in the basket to store it so you don't loose the pieces and am easy to clean if they have been playing out side with it. It is a great way to encourage pretend play.
