      fun toy

The Director Smurf will appeal to all those who relish power and like to boss other around! That will be me then! He is one of the newest additions to the Smurf toyline, which is made by the Schleich company. There are several hundred Smurfs to collect and each year they make about eight new Smurfs for you to add to your collection.

This chap is in line with the others in terms of height. He stands at about one inch in height, so is perfect for the pocket or the shelf. The usual lovely blue skin and white feet and hat are both in place, but this one comes with a megaphone and a clipboard. I am thinking he is on the set of a movie and is barking orders at his cast and crew. I like the way the megaphone is almost in his mouth, which suggests he is very loud and probably shouting at someone! A good colour choice on the megaphone, though he should have had a black and white clipperboard, like the ones where they shout 'action!' and slam it shut. The red one gives him a look of someone about to go into an office, so isn't that authentic. At the tip of his slitty eyes are what appear to be sunglasses, but it hard to tell what exactly they are supposed to be!

The toy can be bought online for just under three pounds making him affordable for kids and adults. Smurfs are great pocket money toys and will allow children to learn the value of money, as they can build a decent collection gradually. So is he worth getting, I would say maybe. Not the most interesting design, but I do like his aggressive look!
