      A perfect play friend

Having a father in law who works as a dog trainer for the police force means that every 2 years, he has a new German Shepherd puppy. My daughter has developed a bit of a fascination for the breed so when we saw this in Toys R Us, we decided to buy it for her.
The puppy cost me around 2pound fifty which I think is quite good value for money, especially considering the quality of the range. It is available from most toys shops such as ELC, Mothercare, The Entertainer and the price can range from 2 - 3 pound. It is also available online from Amazon.
Buster (as Lauren has named him) measures around 3.5cm tall and just under 6cm in length. Even though he his hand painted, his markings and colours make him look just like the real thing and he has a lot of engravings on him which gives the effect of having quite a thick coat.
We have had the puppy for around a year now and it still looks like new, none of the paint has chipped or faded.

For anyone that doesn''t know the range, Schleich are a German company that have been around for years, they are known for quality figures which are all hand painted. The Schleich figurine ranges from small animals, to magical fairies, horses, chariots etc. When we go shopping, if I let her Lauren would spend all day just picking up each little animal and saying how cute it is.

Whenever we buy anything new from the range, I always have a look online at www.schleich-s.com, they always have a little description about the animal and some interesting facts which I like to talk to Lauren about. I was amazed the first time I did this as Lauren had obviously been talking to her granddad about the dog and knew why the police used this breed.

I find the puppy quite versatile when Lauren plays with it and she uses it with lots of her toys. Quite often, Ken will play the role of granddad and she will train the puppy, other times it will be on the farm with her other animals or it is a puppy for her Sylvanian Families. She re-enacts scenarios such as fetch, go and lie down and playing with this really sets her imagination going which is wonderful to watch and listen to.

The puppy is great, very realistic and a reasonable price therefore I would recommend and give it 5 out of 5 stars.
