Advantages: adorable, well made, hand painted

Disadvantages: none

This was the first dragon figure I ever got (exception might some toys that I had as a child). It was the one that kind off made me hooked on dragons. Now it seems only natural that my dragon collection would start with a baby dragon.

This is a figure made by Schleich and is from their Bayala series (wonderful fantasy figures). It is a two piece set, one being the dragon and the other being the amethyst geode bed.

***Baby dragon***

Schleich usually gives names to their themed creations and this little fellow's name is Nugur. I think this is kind off cool, it makes the figure more personal and although the name might sound a bit odd it suits the little dragon nicely.

The little dragon has a very baby like pose to it, lying on the back with it's paws or legs upwards. It's eyes are closed and face expression is really calm. Looking at a whole picture this one looks so innocent and vulnerable, as a baby of any species should. The little feet sticking in the air are extremely cute.

It is hand painted and whoever painted it did an amazing job. The details are great, the colouring and shading are amazing it really gives this one a genuine look, well as much genuine as a dragon figure can be.

Nugur can be displayed in the bed whit which it came or without it, the figure is balanced well.

It is made out of plastic material that is just a little bit rubbery to the feel, it does not have a smell to it.

***Amethyst geode***

Along with the baby dragon you will be getting an bed or a nest (however you want to describe it) in which to put the baby to sleep. The material, well at-least the amethyst minerals, is a bit different, it is still plastic with a somewhat rubbery feel to it but it is slightly transparent - this making the amethyst mineral replica more realistic.

The dragon fits in perfectly, the minerals are moulded in the way to support the dragon so you will need to position it correctly.

I just love this one! It is suitable for children too, and the feedback from the few kids that got to hold mine was always "Aww, it's so cute". And I agree. In my mind if dragons existed, if they had babies this would be how they would look like. It's just so adorable!
