Back in the eighties, a certain film called 'Return Of The Jedi' was just coming out. It was 1983 and the world was Star Wars crazy. Although my least favourite of the original trilogy, the film did introduce us to the madcap Ewoks. Small teddy bear like creatures who live on the forest moon of Endor. The Ewoks divide audiences, with some people raving about their cuteness while other fans objecting that they ruined the film. Towards the end of the film, the rebels are gathered on Endor, mingling with the Ewoks. Princess Leia loses her inhibitions and dressed in an Ewok ceremonial outfit. I would not deem this a costume worth shouting about. It looks more like a heap of old rags! Leia seems comfortable in it though and is at her most relaxed at this point in the film.

Hasbro's toy version of the figure capitalises on something Kenner did not produce in the eighties. The figure stands at about four inches or so in height and is a good addition to the collection. Leia's gentle facial features have been captured to a tee. I love her feminine lips and softened eyes and even the hair is coloured beautifully with a good level of texturing.

Her outfit echoes the one she wore in the film well. There is a good amount of movement in the dress, suggesting she has caught a light breeze! Her legs are shiny and nimble as are the arms, you can also move these joints to strike new poses. Leia comes with a blaster rifle and a 35mm freeze frame from the movie. The latter is a neat add on which I think is a novel extra to include with the set. Prices should come in at about five pounds for a boxed figure.

This is one of the older figures in the line up, so trying to locate a boxed one now might be hard to achieve.
