Not a man to be crossed and possibly not one to date either. Captain Shiner made an appearance in the hit cartoon show Thundercats. Although only making a brief appearance, he resonated well enough with fans to be turned into an action figure by toymaker LJN.

These days, you will be hard pushed to find one boxed, so the best bet is to search auction sites for a loose figure. He is likely to cost a couple of pounds, so is quite affordable.

Shiner is a bad guy, a mercenary who kidnapped Lion O' and aided the evil Mumm-Ra. He is a fine specimen of an action figure, standing well over five inches in height and looking every bit as menacing as his character in the cartoon.

Shiner has a damaged looking face, suggesting he has fought many battles. Ripped looking fleshy facial tissue hangs around his chops, while two offset eyes peer back at you. The eyes are different colours, which is intriguing. You can twist the head at the neck to make him look around too.

Shiner sports what looks like an all in one catsuit made of lycra! It is unsuually skintight and shows off his rippling body very well. If he wasn't so ugly in the face, he might actually be quite desirable! Lovely pec definition here and some great muscular arms complete his bulk, while convincing orange straps are used to show his armour.

He wears blue gloves and boots which are interesting, as the colours are very bright and cheerful for such a moody character! Shiner also comes with a massive red blaster which he can grip in his hand. Fully poseable, why not have him attacking Panthro and Tigra in a showdown.

A splendid and ugly chap, who will look great in any action figure collection.
