      pretty bulky toy

Hachiman is a character who appears in the hit cartoon show 'Thundercats.' Despite brief appearances, he was deemed big enough to turn into an action figure. I suspect that toymaker LJN might have been struggling to come up with people to turn into toys, so they were having to use people who only appeared in a few scenes! Hachiman might look like a brute, but underneath his exterior, he's actually a reliable comrade, who ends ups reconciling with Lion O.

The figure stands at about five inches in height and is a satisfying and bulky chap. Moulded from plastic, he is is sturdy and very robust in his design work, which makes it very difficult to snap him. The only weaker feature is the spiked hat, which might be prone to snapping.

I am unsure about his red beard, which seems a little too stark in colour, but it is mostly hidden by the head gear, which is elaborate and eye catching, in a deep blue colour. His manly torso commands attention, as do his rippling arms with armour plating. This will help him remain firm in any battle.

Very intriguing lower leg work, with what look like shorts, hanging over another undergarment. It is meant to resemble samurai clothing, so I guess it looks vaguely convincing, though the brown colours make him look too rural. The figure sports a samurai sword, which adds to the charm and looks very beastly. He is poseable at the head, arms and legs, allowing you to strike many poses.

To purchase him new is difficult, as the figure is hard to come by, but you can generally buy him loose for a couple of pounds or so. Not my favourite chap in the range, but a fine background character who might raise an eyebrowe.
