      lovely toy

I was disappointed that the Lord Of The Rings trilogy did not spurn a more successful toy range. There are a few action figure available, but they did not sell that well. Collectors will be pleased to know though that the principle characters are available and that includes the hunky Boromir. He was played by Sean Bean in the films and was a noble warrior. Boromir is one of my favourites so it is great to see him as an action figure.

Toy Biz make the figure and he comes in at several inches in height. The toy is suitable for play or display purposes and has been built well. The body is plastic and robust with tightly fitted limbs. You can move the joints and create your own poses. Have him raise aloft his sword and slash some orcs perhaps.

Sean's handsome and rugged looks are matched well in this action figure's face, with a good jawline and pleasing hair colour. The face looks furrowed and weary which is spot on. His costume is richly articulated with long glamorous armour, cut in a shapely fashion. The delicate silvers and blacks are working in unison and give the toy a realistic look. I especially like the fact that his sword sheath has been included which makes him look ready for battle.

The figure comes with a sword and is neatly presented in a see through plastic mould, carded at the back. I would have liked maybe one or two extras. A still from the film or a collector's card would have rounded off a satisfying package. The toy commands around the ten pound mark boxed and can be bought online. Tracking one down in stores will be harder given that the films are a few years old now.
