      Advantages

      Disadvantages

not as good as i expected but the children love them

My two eldest daughters aged seven and eight spotted these before Christmas last year on a TV advert and decided they wanted them, they came to me asking for zoobles and as you can imagine I hadn't a clue what they were on about so had to goggle it.

We ended up buying two, a yellow one with flowers around his eyes, bear ears and came with its own habitat which is purple and has a leaf on the top, a magnet on the bottom of the zooble opens it up once inside the habitat. The other is white and a sea creature that came with a different habitat, it is pink and has a snow flake on it.

To be honest with you for the price of these things I wasn't impressed at all with them as they are really just silly bits of plastic that don't do a great deal at all and there are lots of variety so would cost you a fortune to have them all.

My daughters love them though and play with them regularly, I wouldn't recommend young children playing with them although there are no parts small enough to wallow as they can get there skin on there hands trapped in them when closing them.

Although I am disappointed with these once they have fallen in price I dare say my daughters will be acquiring a few more.

a unique idea for a toy

Back in the spring of this year, my daughter received a zooble from a family member as a present. At the time, I didn't have a clue what a zooble even was. Over time, I have learnt to love the little characters as much as my daughter does.

      ** What is a Zooble **

A zooble is a plastic character / animal that doesn't follow any traditional animal character but has its own unique characteristics.
The zooble lives tucked into a ball that can only be opened when placed on their "happitat". The happitat holds a magnetic plate inside the top of it which when connected with the zooble enables the zooble to open up to show its true character form.

      ** Happitat **

The zooble's happitat also acts as its house which you can use to store the zooble in when not playing with it. This has been a godsend in our house to prevent the zooble from becoming lost when not being played with.
The happitat is made of a thick plastic which has been moulded into a pretty design. Each one is slightly different from the rest in colour and shading and matches the zooble it arrives with. The happitat opens and closes via a hinged area at the back of the design. It's well made and even small hands haven't been able to break or ruin it in nearly a year of playing with it.

On the top of the happitat is where the magnetic area sits. It's just big enough for the base of the zooble to sit in, but when the zooble is open, it stays in place really well.

      ** Zooble **

When you look closely at a zooble and see how it is made, I find it quite interesting to see. It is made up of small plastic pieces that are pieces together with small screws, springs and connections. This may sound quite dangerous for children to play with but in actual fact it's not, and they are very well made and secure. Obviously there is an age recommendation of over three years, but there aren't any small parts to worry about dropping off.

A zooble when closed is just like a ball that you can roll along the floor. It doesn't bounce though so do beware of that with small children being enthusiastic when playing.
When open each zooble has different characteristics, and this determines each one from each other. There are over 150 different zoobles to collect, so this would work out to be quite an expensive toy to collect over long term.
The open zooble can sit on its magnetic pad, or can be removed open and played with as a character. There are many play sets that you can buy specifically for the zoobles as extras.

An open zooble is quite a cute character. As each one is different, you may receive one with little horns, ears and many other different characteristics. We currently have two, one being orange and having certain features like a lion, and the other is more of an underwater creature.
I love the fact that their eyes blink when you move parts on the head. My daughter has never struggled with the smaller features of the zooble, despite being just four years old.

      ** Overall **

You can expect to pay around £5.99 per single zooble, so like I said it is an expensive toy for what you get, but when you start to build the collection up and get play sets for it then it does become a fun set to play with.
