Advantages: Good price, easy to use web site
Disadvantages: No drop-in luggage check-in
Two weeks ago I had my first experience with the Irish airline and I must say it was quite alright.
I traveled in their new route from London Gatwick to Munich which was quite good news to me.
Living in Southern England, the closest airport offering this route was Heathrow and only with BA or Lufthansa which I consider really good companies but not the best prices.
Needless to say Aer Lingus tickets was 50% cheaper than I previously had paid to fly to Munich and their web page was very easy to use.
Note that you have to pay for check-in luggage which can be up to 20 kg and you can either do it when buy your ticket online or at the airport when checking-in. Online is cheaper so it is worth to know in advance how much luggage you really need.
I checked-in online one day before my departure and again it was quite easy and straight forward. You can choose your seats in advance and I really recommend doing that if you can.
The only bad thing was their actual check-in place in Gatwick, as it was not very organized and not with the typical extra check-in desk just for drop-in luggage.
During the flight they offer you a choice of hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, pastries... which you have to purchase as it would be expected in a budget airline.
Also they offer "duty-free" products.
The plane was a brand new Airbus which I thought had less space for the legs but apart from that alright.
The crew was friendly and attentive. The pilot kept us informed about the flight which arrived on-time in Munich.
Summary: Very good, would fly again with them.
