Reasonable Airline with extensive network (Aerolineas Argentinas)

Disadvantages: punctuality can be hit by regional airport inefficiencies

Aerolineas Argentinas is a reasonable airline operator. If you are travelling within Argentina this airline may be the better option. The network is quite extensive with flights mostly emanating from Buenos Aires to other major Argentine cities including Ushuaia (Tierra del Fuego) and cities to the west.

Flight costs are quite reasonable and the service and the quality of food on board was okay. The fleet seems to be made up of workhouse 737s along with a few MD11-s here and there. Punctuality was okay - although be warned some of Argentina's airports away from Buenos Aires are little more than cattle sheds and therefore queues and delays can result from this.

One word of warning! On arriving at Ushuaia airport one is greeted with a large blown up picture of one of AA's 737s submerged in the sea that surrounds the old airport where it had overshot the runway!! Thankfully this was not shown before we boarded!!!
