Advantages: Good Legroom

Disadvantages: No In-Flight Entertainment!, Awful delays

Air Europa until recently have been one of those airlines stuck in the middle ages where a buttered roll is an unexpected luxury and the aircraft are more likely to resemble WW2 bombers.

I purchased (i'll say very cheap) ticket to Las Palmas in the Canaries and I was flying with Air Europa.
I boarded the Boeing 757-200 which was starting to show its age and took my surprisingly comfy seat and there was nobody else on my entire row! (are they that bad!?) My legroom was very good for a charter flight, but then this airline is actually a scheduled airline so you would expect more comfort.
We took off on time and it was a pleasant flight.

It was the return flight that really sums this company up! We got to Las Palmas airport early for check-in. Then we waited to board (same plane) but for some reason we were kept waiting ages until they told us our flight would be delayed for 3 hours. After 2 hours they actually gave us free coffee from the airport cafe (how generous not) and after 3 hours they told us there was a problem with the plane. Meanwhile about 2 other london bound flights left with happy brits returning home and then there was us sitting in the departure lounge watching the time ticking away - hour after hour!
Then all of a sudden at 6am in the morning (the flight was meant to leave 10 hours earlier) we were summoned for boarding! we couldnt believe it, so we went through the gate and were taken to this 737-300 that, take note: had been sitting there all night) We got out of the airport bus and entered the plane and people were jumping across the rows to get the best seats (they didnt assign seat numbers). We got one over the wing. Because our original aircraft was a lot larger than this one, we were stuffed in like battery hens and I could barely breathe! The pilot started the engines and we took off, and to my amazement got us back to Gatwick in about three and a half hours which can only be put down to his rather individu
al Spanish flying that featured rolling the aircraft so much baggage fell from the overhead lockers and on the tarmac at Gatwick, the pilots love of speed got us to the gate in about 60 seconds from touchdown! Now thats what I call express service, at least the Spanish dont mess about when it comes to putting there foot down!

A very good opinion, and seems to reflect the majority of Air Europa travellers. There recent rebranding does not seem to have improoved the punctuality, however it has seen them starting to phase out the Boeing 757 aircraft in favour or severall varieties of the Boeing 737 (including the new generation - 800 series, which does have the facilities for inflight entertainment) and also the Boeing 767 of which they have two examples, mainly used on their scheduled flights from Madrid to New York and Havana.
