Advantages: Great entertainment, awesome friendly staff, very flexible, reasonable price

Disadvantages: Dont pay for premium economy as economy is just as good (Im saying economy is awesome)

WARNING - This is basically my whole experience with them to/from Los Angeles.
I guess you could say im in the best position to write this review, I got back from Los Angeles yesterday and flew Air New Zealand by myself (17 years old).
What can i say, they are absolutely the best airline ive seen, and ive been on most.
It was my first time into the US since they introduced the ESTA scheme which i had been told nothing about, and this is where my review starts.
I went to check in and they asked me where my ESTA code was, i said i had no idea what they were talking about, and i feared if i was getting on that flight.
Luckily she got up and spoke to someone in business class who went to fetch a laptop from their office so i could fill out the application online! I already started to feel the benefits of this airline. I completed that and started to feel more relaxed and i thanked them for the trouble they had gone to. Luckily i was early so time wasnt a factor.
For some reason they said it was their fault as it wasnt very clear on their website, so they let me check in with business class people (I was going Economy like NORMAL people), this meant my luggage would come off first at the other end, which it did!, and no queing!
The new lady at check in asked me if i wished to change my assigned seat to a window, as none had been available online. I said great and it turned out to be an emergency seat with lots more legroom!
On a 747, i had over 40" of legroom due to my seat being an emergency exit, so no trouble there. My own personal tv with so much entertainment you couldnt get bored even on a 30 hour flight.
All crew are very nice and constantly are carrying around soft drinks, various wines and crisps for our convenience. Food was good (my airplane standards, with cheese omlette and chocolate mouse with large selection of fruits.
After watching Two and a half men, the big bang theory and music channels all the way there i was feeling relaxed and excited about visiting family and going on a private tour of the sets on the above programmes.
My luggage came out first and in great condition.

I HAD A GREAT HOLLIDAY

On return, everything ran very smoothly but for one very awesome thing, free seats!
On the flight I was sat next to two germans who were nice but i couldnt understand anything they said. they kept shouting to there friend who for some reason was in another section of the plane. I asked a very nice English flight attendent if there was some way to stop them shouting, (They didnt understand English so it didnt matter if they heard me), she decided to move all of them to a different section of the plane and i was left for 11 hours with 3 seats for the price of one. Meaning i could go to sleep like they do in business.
If i had only had one seat it still would of been good, excellent leg room and again personal tv and various games, like "Who wants to be a millionaire" and so on.
To my fascination all the shows, tv programmes etc were all different, so again i was fully entertained all the time and had my carry on items next to me all the time for bathroom break (i.e brush teeth etc) and my laptop for various stuff!
All the service was excellent again and the meals were different so again very impressed.

Fully recommend these guys for everything, and i guess i may of got lucky, but they are the best airline there is and you will find this across the internet.

P.S - Most people will want to go to NZ reading this review, and if going from Heathrow, you have to stop in LA.
Its such a nice place you might as well have a couple of days there before carrying on to Auckland.
No one should have to do 24 hours straight on a flight, so break it up with a little trip to LAX, im going to post a review in the holliday section if they have an LA one.
