Advantages: Inflight entertainment, friendly staff, luggage allowance

Disadvantages: None really

I recently used Air Newzealand for a return flight to Los Angeles from London Heathrow. I had no idea before I did some research that the airline did this route but it turned out they had the cheapest fare at the time I booked so I thought I'd give them a go even though I knew nothing about them.

**My Experience**

I always choose an aisle seat when flying as I like the freedom to move around. I was pleasantly surprised to find the that leg room was not really an issue in economy class and there was plenty of space in my seat (Although I am only 5'4" :-)).

I was a little worried about having to fly for 11 hours but the first thing I noticed when I sat down was the brilliant selection of in flight entertainment the airline had to offer. There were probably upwards of 50 movies to choose from as well as whole television series and programmes. I really was spoilt for choice. I also discovered that unlike other longhaul airlines I've travelled on you can play, pause, rewind and fastforward films, or just abandon them all together. I thought this was great and a feature I've not experienced before on longhaul.

Two meals were served throughout the flight. One was a hot meal and the other a 'light option' which was a toasted sandwich. All the meals I recieved were quite decent for aeroplane food and came with side dishes as well. Drinks were available included throughout the flight which was really convenient.

The luggage allowance is another factor which I feel I should mention. Two check in bags are allowed up to a maximum weight of 46kg between them. I thought this was great as it meant I didnt have to worry about going over my allowance as 46kg is a lot! I think the maximum weight for just one bag is 32kg which is still very heavy and means you don't have to worry about extra payments.

Both my flights were on time and the check in staff were really friendly. The staff on board were very helpful as well and as I was upset about leaving my boyfriend behind they comforted me and made me feel a lot happy to be flying on my own across the Atlantic.

**Advantages**

*In flight entertainment
*Friendly staff
*Luggage allowance
*Leg room

**Disadvantages**

*None that I experienced

**Overall**

I would definately recommend checking out Air NZ for any of the routes they fly as I really had a great flight experience on my long journey.

Summary: Brilliant airline that kept me entertained!
