Air Transat does indeed offer very competitive rates on prices overseas but trust me: you will get what you pay for.

Their fleet of planes are very cramped and makes the flight a painful and uncomfortable ride for international destinations. Some people wonder why air rage is making the headlines! Between stops waits can be as long as an hour to an hour and a half, and unfortunately passengers are not permitted to briefly de-board the plane into a waiting area.

The meals that are served are a step up from the standard fatty and greasy foods served by other airlines because caterers have chosen to serve cold mini-sandwiches and instant coffees as their fare.

I did encounter a case of potential racism at one Air Transat wicket. When I tried to complain, the Air Transat representatives handled the case like a hot potato of plague. The buck passing was a severe irritation.

When you travel, travel well. Stick with the bigger airlines. Avoid Air Transat if you can help it.
