Advantages: Cheap Fares

Disadvantages: Poor Meal Service, Shabby aircraft

I flew to Toronto on Air Transat, a Canadian Charter Airline and while the fare was low there was not much else positive to say.

The whole airline was a bit of a seventies throwback, from the ancient aircraft (evidence inside pointed to it being a Cathay Pacific castoff) which had a unique feature of condensing water on landing and soaking passengers in the window seats! to the general outdated livery and crew uniforms.

The meal service was terrible, very small main meal and a snack which wasn't worth the efforts of the cabin crew to hand out.

I am aware that they have bought some new aircraft and have changed their logo - perhaps things will improve, but from my experience I will be relucant to use them again.

If you do go on a Charter flight to Canada, consider Canada 3000 - a completely different experience.

Unfortunately it seems we'll have to stick with Air Transat since the alternative you suggest, Canada 3000, have gone bankrupt.

Charters always have and always will be a cheap way to travel. You get what you pay for in this world...
