Italy for a bit more than 10 Pounds return (Alitalia)

Disadvantages: A bit lenient when passengers were messing around

I have just come back from a short break to Italy, Milan during the weekend with Alitalia.

I paid 113 Pounds for a return ticket, departing Friday during the day and coming back on Sunday afternoon. I had to take ½ day off, but I was also able to hit the night in Milan on Friday night, which is a plus.

I had been told by my Italian friends that Alitalia are not a good company, but I do not think so.

I found the check in fast in London, and in Milan, and ground staff were kind. I had a luggage with 16 kilos on the way back and they did not many questions. I believe that most airlines allow 20 kilos, but I also hear that some tariffs these days are for 15 kilos only.

We did not get too much food on the plane, this is true, and on the way back I think that the staff should have taken the initiative when a family blocked the aisle for some time. It looked as if they were on their first flight, and had some problems with luggage.

Talking about luggage, I got mine in time at the arrival in Milan, while the whole plane had to wait 20 in London, but I am not sure if this is to due with the personnel in London or with Alitalia.

The plane was clean, the seats comfortable, the leg room more or less the same as on BA, and the in flight magazine interesting to read.
