Alitalia- oh dear (Alitalia)

Advantages: Journey smooth

Disadvantages: Air stewards disinterested

I travelled to Sicily recently with Alitalia. I wasn`t sure what to expect as i read reports that they were constantly being bailed out from bankruptcy.

Check in at Heathrow was fine- no problems there. Boarded the aircraft- quite small- but ok so far. I was looking food to a hot meal on board, but what came? A dodgy looking sandwich/roll thing, a drink and a cake. I was most disappointed. The air stewards looked unmotivated and disheartened- i felt sorry for them. The journey itself was fine- no problems encountered. On board entertainment didn`t exist , the plane look tired and old.

On the return journey it was more or less the same thing. This time though staff were not very polite and couldn`t seem to care less. This did spoil my journey somewhat. However from recent going ons, it seems Alitalia may not be around for much longer- and i`m not surprised.

Summary: Not sure i`d try them again
