All Nippon Airways (ANA)

I travelled with All Nippon Airways a number of times last year from London to Tokyo in economy class. I thought the service was very friendly, with fligh attendants being very attentive to your needs and helpful, and competent. The food was exquisite and plentiful, quite unlike most other cheap airlines: you get a combination of western and Japanese dishes. The negatives are old planes (B747) and therefore uncomfortable seats and a poor inflight entertainment. Last year I took a flight from San Francisco to Tokyo on ANA (All Nippon Airways). As the flight was out of season it was cheap - around 450 pounds. ANA is a member of Star alliance, which means that if you hold an airmiles card for United, you can also claim your miles on a flight with ANA. The flight was one of the most comfortable long haul experiences that I have had. Seats and TV screens seem to come pretty standard in most flights, but ANA also had some additional features on its flights.
