Motto "more room" but is it (American Airlines)

Advantages: more leg room, very good service

Disadvantages: not the budget prices but not bad either

They say "more room" and they mean it!

American Airlines has "more room" as their motto. Having travelled with them I would definately agree that they have now made it so that you do have a lot more room.

It is the only Airline that we have travelled on where we have stretched our legs out comfortably being average height.

We went to Chicago from Heathrow and then travelled on from there. The trip went without a hitch.

The trip took about 7 and a half hours.

If you are looking for trolley dolleys dont bother because they are picked not solely on looks but for everything else as well.

When you board the plane you will have overhead luggage lockers. These are ample room to store your hand luggage.

When you have seated you will find a screen in front of you on long hauls with a choice of various programmes and also satelite phones which will cost you.

On the screen you can watch the map to see your route and exactly where you are at any precise moment. If you dont want to do this you can choose films to watch.

On board on a trip to America you usually have 2 meals. these are quite nice. You also have free soft drinks. Alcohol is quite expensive at £3 or $5 per drink.

On our trip over there were no duty free on board for people to purchase but it was very early on a Saturday morning so dont know if that made a difference.

The airline is very laid back but if boarding in the States the security checks are a bit of a nightmare but then this applies to all airlines not just american.

Before you go check what you are allowed to take as hand luggage. We found that we could take much more in hand luggage than we thought. This was great for coming home. The other good thing was they didnt weigh it!

Dont forget to put in the main luggage anything metal and not in the hand luggage as this will otherwise set the alarm off or show on
the xray which does lead to all sorts of complications such as returning to your luggage to put it in there and getting a search little short of a body search!

We hope to go to America again in June and would definately choose to go with American Airlines.

It is good to know that they are efficient though.
