Broke My Suitcase, TVS Broke, Rude. (British Airways in general)

Advantages: Short Haul Flight Seemed Good.

Disadvantages: Not Good On Long Haul

I have only been with British Airways Twice and i have had mixed experiances with them.

The first time i flew with BA was a short haul flight from London - Madrid & back again. The plane out was in good condition and for a 2 hour flight was fine. The seats were an ok size and legroom was ok for me, but the other people i was with found it a little cramped. In the pocket of the seat in front was the saftey cards & in flight shopping magainze, the shopping magazine came in handy as it was something to read whilst on the journey as there was no other entertainment unless you take your own things.
I can't remember what we had to eat going out, but i remember it was cleared away quickly. The staff were kind and the flight was over pretty quickly!
Coming home the flight was late so we were delayed it didn't bother us to much as it was only about 1 hour and we were quite happy just sitting down as it was pretty late. The plane was really nice with comfy leather seats which seemed bigger than when we went out. But unfortunatly when i pulled down my table it was dirty and so was the floor around my seat. The people who cleaned the plane only had a short time and it must have been hard but for BA i would have expected a little better.
Our food was a choice of bagette and this was ok, again the staff were polite and seemed happy.

My 2nd flight with BA was a long haul flight to New York, this was a bad flight.
We boarded the double decker plane and walked through the upper classes to get into Economy, the plane was clean and nice. We sat down on our seats and for me again the seat was a ok size and legroom was ok too. There was a pillow & blanket in our seats which was nice although this made sitting down a little tricky as you had to move it out the way before you sat down, but it was great to have don't get me wrong!
Each seat had there own Seatback Tv, this is were i became less impressed with BA it turnt out Economy only had a couple of films to choose from and that was it! Whereas the upper classes had more films, games, music etc.. Virgin Atlantic has Films, Music, Games, TV shows and each class has the same!
Not long after take off our Tv's were working except Economy which meant no Entertainment!! They did reset the Tv's this took about 45 minutes and in that time i read my book, then food came around which was nice.
I started to watch a movie out of the small choice and about 30 mins into my movie the TV's stopped working in Economy Again! So again they reset them this time it was a good hour and then my TV and some other peoples didn't work so i ended up reading my book, i'm glad i brought it otherwise i would have been very bored!
The staff were quite rude, some were kind others not.
From this review it may seem i am a very fussy person, but i'm not i didn't even ask the staff for anything except when they came around with tea or coffee then i asked for a cup of tea! I just went with the flow the whole flight i'm not really one to complain.
We got off the flight and went to collect our luggage to my horror my suitcase had 5 BIG holes in!! This made me a bit moody as it was a brand new suitcase! So the 2nd thing we did (after getting to the hotel) in New York was to find Duck Tape and to tape my suitcase up! I must have looked soo silly when coming home having a suitcase coverd up in duck tape!
Coming home i can't say it was any better.

Overall i won't be flying with BA again, i might for a short haul flight but thats only a maybe.
