Advantages: Good service, food and drink, no charges for luggage and winter sports gear

Disadvantages: Long bag drop off queue

We have flown twice with Britsh Airways in the last six months and on both ocassions I have been more than happy.

We flew to Los Angeles in the summer and had a wonderful flight. I was a little wary as we were due to fly from the newly opened Terminal 5 but it was fine - really clean and lots of people to help you check in as it is all done through touch screens in the foyer.

The flight left on time, the staff were courteous and the in flight entertainment was varied - I really liked the way it was possible to pause the film when you wanted so that you could go to the toilet when there wasn't a queue!

Drinks were available where constantly being brought down so no problems of dehydration.

We then recently flew to Salzburg with BA from gatwick this time and we had a similar experience. I had already booked in on line but we still needed to book the luggage in - this aws the worst bit as it was a huge line to join and when you are carrying snowboards, skis and boots it wasn't much fun. Luckily the queue moved fairly quickly.

There was no entertainment on this flight ( its only 1hr 40mins) but they do provide a meal and a drink - OK there isn't any choice but the coffee was great and the sandwich was fresh.

The staff were attentive and helpful. This flight was no more expensive than the so-called budget airlines yet we didn't have to pay for luggage (you are allowed one bag up to 23kg free per person) and we didn't have to pay extra to take the snowboards and ski's which easy jet charge £15 each way for - so this was a saving of nearly £150 pounds!! and you get a free drink and food

I'd recommend anyone to look into BA when they fly

Summary: Good value for money airline

I quite like them and agree if you book ahead it is easy to get flights to Europe especially very cheap. Those fast bag drop points are completely misnamed, nothing fast about them in my experience too.
