Advantages: Free food, booze and goody bag.

Disadvantages: Over-active Air Con.

I recently travelled from Heathrow Terminal 5 to Philadelphia and back on British Airways. The flight was an hour late flying out due to some mix up with the baggage, although this was never explained.

To be honest, I have never travelled long-distance in economy before, but it was much more comfortable than travelling via Easy Jet or another short haul airline.

The seating was comfortably spaced, and we had individual televisions on the back of the seats.

Our welcome pack included a cute little toothbrush, a cotton blanket, a very cheap looking pillow, an eye mask, headphones and socks, none of which I had expected on an economy flight. I though they were lovely touches. I was especially surprised that all the food and drink (including alcohol) was complimentary, and the service was fantastic. I could barely finish a drink without someone topping me up or offering more ice.

The flight itself was plain sailing so to speak, albeit a little chilly.

All in all a nice experience.

Summary: Nice.
