I am currently in Hong Kong! I flew here from Heathrow terminal 5 with British airways. I havent flown long haul since I was 10 so wasnt really looking forward to the 12 hour flight.
I received emails from BA after making the booking, inviting me to make special food requests and to inform me that I could check in online.

24 hours before my flight I checked in online, I also chose my seat for no extra cost. I chose to sit on top of the wing, in the aisle.

I then dropped my bag off at the drop in point in heathrow a few hours before my flight. My luggage got there safe and nothing was damaged.

The flight itself was fairly boring, I had to keep getting up as I got a very numb bum. I was very jealous of the people in first class as they got a chair that enabled you to lie down properly.

I only got about 3 hours sleep, as the plane was so noisy, and I didnt have much space, and the seat didnt go down very far.

Fellow passengers were friendly but kept to themselves which I found a bit odd as we had to spend 12 hours in close proximity.

The food was good for plane food, as a vegetarian I got served first for both dinner and breakfast. You could have as many alcoholic/soft drinks as you wanted, and I made use of the coffee at 5 in the morning which is about lunchtime in HK.

The BA staff were all very polite and friendly, nothing seemed too much trouble.

I watched 2 films, Ice age 3 and Night at the museum 2. You can choose from a variety of new and old films, you can also listen to a small selection of albums or radio stations. This kept me amused for a while, and woke me up in the morning.

The only problem with this flight was that after 12 hours the 2 toilets in my section were disgusting, and could have done with a clean half way through.
I would recommend taking a travel pillow with you as they dont provide them and it makes a difference to how much sleep you get. Also book an aisle seat as you get loads more leg room.

I would fly with BA again and will consider them when booking my ticket home.

Went with BA to New York didn't have a great trip :( Entertainment system broke which isn't really their fault but a pain still, some miserable staff and just bad service.
I'm a Virgin Atlantic person for long haul, but good review and have fun in HK!

I have just come back from Thailand with BA and the return trip was a disaster and we never saw any crew for about 5 hours. They treated the passengers in economy as an inconvenience and were a disgrace to BA. Conversly the trip out the crew were brilliant, friendly and couldnt do enough for you. Good entertainment good food and we had pillows and blankets. Its very hit and miss depending on the crew I guess and my daughter works for BA I would not be impressed with her if she treated people the same way but I know she woudnt.
