Disadvantages: 24 hour delay no proper apology
I flew to Philadelphia with British Airways (from London Heathrow) and the trip to get there went fine, although I wasnt impressed with the customer service. Getting back developped into a problem> passengers were asked to board the plane on time we were then told that there were technical problems with the aircraft and that it would take a little while to fix it, but then we would take off 3 hours later we were still sitting in plane listening to banging and the technicians trying to repair the defect half 12 at night 3.5 hours after the scheduled departured, BA decided that the problem could not be solved and asked us to disembarc (our luggage already had been taken out of the plane, while crewmembers told us they were still trying to fix the plane) after a desastrous desembarcment (old people and children got no help or assistance whatsoever) we were split up to go into hotels for the rest of the night. we were not told at any point of that stage when we would be flown into London next morning: no BA representative next day lunch time: no BA representative then at 2 o clock in the afternoon, we were told to ring a numer to get to know when we would fly out in the evening we got split up into groups and got new boarding passes to get across the atlantic. the flight back was nearly 24 hours later than the one I had booked, some people were unlucky and departed more than 24 later than they wanted to at no point BA issued a proper apology, offered compensation etc. I got a flight voucher after sending some quite angy complaint letter, but as BA is quite expensive and doesnt depart from Dublin where I live I couldnt use it, and it expired now. I will not use BA ever again, if there is any alternative to get where I want to fly to.
