Newest Review: ... and so were required to use the self check in. We found this to be extremely easy, and a member of staff was always present nearby should you have any difficulty. I do say this was easy, however my husband did comment that he felt that his own parents would struggle when presented with such a machine and would prefer to check in face to face with a member of staff. As I said, we really liked using the machine, as we could choose the seats from a diagram of the place from those available, but it also printed out all our boarding passes etc. We then proceeded to a bag drop, where we got to talk face to face with a member of staff, and c... more

I realise that there are already a vast array of reviews of BMI, but I thought I would add my own experience and opinion to the rest. As part of our holiday this year to the Middle East, we took two BMI flights, a short domestic flight, followed by a longer 5 hour flight. In terms of getting to the destination and dates and timings, we had little choice about the carrier to use, BMI was our only real option, and one that we had no previous experience of. Assuming BMI to be a reputable company and one that was hopefully likely to stay in business during this economic downturn we booked our flights in advance. Although for the most part I found ...  Read the complete review

I took a bmi flight this year because it was part of the package when I bought my holiday, not because i chose the airline specifically. For this reason, I can't comment on the process of booking the flight or the price of flights. Check in at the airport was nice and straightforward, we didn't have to queue for too long, and the check in staff were friendly and helpful. When we boarded the plane I was pleasantly surprised to see that every seat on the plane had an individual TV screen in the back of the chair in front. Considering this was a five hour flight, and I've been on plenty of transatlantic flights which provided no such facility, I was ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review bmi British Midland in general: Really Good Domestic Flight (157 words)

I travelled a few times between Manchester and London. Booking was on their main website and I bought return trips for approximately £60-80. Manchester Terminal 3 where BMI is based share the Terminal with Flybe and VLM which makes it quite a less stressfull atmosphere as fewer people in the terminal in the Afternoon. The Check-in Staff are friendly and professional and it is a short walk through security. BMI uses a walk on Gate for their Airbus Flight to London and a snack was served for free on board along with a hot drink. By the time you've had your drink the aircraft is ready to land after about 25 minutes in the air. The cabin crew were very ...  Read the complete review

I have flown from East Midlands to Belfast International Airport three times in the last two years and have chosen bmi British Midland every time. The main reason for this is that I usually travel with a family member who has a disability and like the fact that we can book our seats on-line. The planes are clean and have always taken off on time (dispite having the usual round up of the last couple of passengers who have to be dragged away from the airport bar). The service on board the plane has always been quick and efficient, if sometimes it could have been a little friendlier. I might be the same if working on these short flights but no member of staff has been ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review bmi British Midland in general: BMI Baby - a match for Big Brother (228 words)

Having traveled with BMI before, I always have had a good experiance so when the BMI Baby service proved to be the cheapest option for me for a trip to the UK mainland from Belfast International, I was worried that this may have been a "downsize" from the BMI we all know. I wasn't disapointed. The check in at Belfast International Airport was fuss free and the staff on the BMI desk were polite, pleasant and helpful. The queues were minimal and we had already pre booked our seats online with the easy online booking system - I have to say, it was the smoothest online booking that I have ever done as all of the prices where shown clearly, the dates ...  Read the complete review
