Advantages: cheap, easy to use
Disadvantages: makes you want to holiday too much
I have to say few things really impress me, i'm quite hard in that respect and have very high standards, but so far I am Really impressed with BMI Baby. Not only did I manage to snagg one of the illusive free flights that they offered when they 1st open up for business from East midlands Airport (Extremely convenient for me as I am a Nottingham Lady) but I managed to save a small fortune booking a trip to Brussels recently. My first experience of there Web site was quite clouded as I had tried to get on it when they were issuing all sorts of freebies when they originally launched the site. I did however managed to Get 2 free flights from East Midlands to Glasgow, I had to pay a very small security charge of £6 for the 2 seats but what a bargain that was. We traveled in May and I was suprised at the quality of service for a budget operator. My flights were on time, checking in was pain free, the plane was clean and the staff very friendly, what more can you ask for £6 for 2 people. Ok so normally you wouldn't get them for that price but if you do even better. My partner and me recently decided to book a short break to Brussels, we had been there last year after I won 2 first class tickets on Eurostar when I appeared on Catchphrase (Yes i was very nervous!!). We had never thought of going there it wouldn't really be on my list of priorities when it came to places to visit, but I won the tickets so there really was nothing stopping us from going. It was fantastic we really loved it, so we were really wanting to get back there. Then a couple we are friends with expressed an intrest in coming with us as it was one of there birthdays. So I set about booking a mini-break. we decided to go from Friday to Monday for 3 nights. I called the travel agent to ask prices for 3 nights flying from East Midlands Airport. They only had 4 or 5 star hotels left and it would cost at least £430, theres no way I could afford
that, so I decided to look around my self. I found a Hotel that was 4 star plus and was beautiful they had a special offer on so it would only cost us £70 for three nights what a bagain!! I then started to look for flights, lookily enough BMI baby had just announced that they were flying to Brussels from East midlands and they had some great offers on. I found the web site really easy to use and it was simple to find the availability and prices for our flights. I was really pleased to find a return flight for £90 including all taxes and charges, the times were fantastic arriving there early in the morning and coming back in the evening. I paid using a credit card and promptly had a confirmation email telling me my tickets were on the way. Then just 2 days later they arrived in the post first class. What an excellent service. So after being told we would need to pay £430 to fly from East midlands and stay in a 4 star hotel, i managed to snag a fantastic 4 star break for just £160 per person. Needless to say the other people who were travelling were very pleased with the deal and i am laughing all the way to the bank and Brussels.....

- 08/08/02 Yes, good to have another rival for qu-easyjet, now that they have gobbled up 'Go'. I look forward to using the Cardiff-Edinburgh service when it starts in October. |
