Advantages: Cheap, Flies Direct
Disadvantages: Quite Basic
I flew with Canada 3000 for the second time from London Gatwick to Vancouver this summer. They offered the cheapest fare and also flew direct with a one hour stop in Calgary. On my flight in both directions they arrived ten minutes late due to taking too long in Calgary, but I felt this was more because of the passengers ignoring the cabin crew's requests that they retake their seats so they could be counted.
You didn't have an option in terms of food (unless you ordered vegetarian or children's) but it was fine if basic, but adequatly filling. They offered a hot meal and a cold snack (a sandwitch and fruit) in both directions.
You had to pay for headsets ($5 Canadian/£3) which you could then keep and use in stereos (they had a removable adapter) but they were white and orange! I had no problem with this as they showed three recent films in both directions, as well as some short TV programmes between Calgary and Gatwick. You also had to pay for alcohol (£2 a glass) but you got a complimentary glass of wine (red or white) with your meal. Otherwise drinks were served regularly and they were pretty decent.
Overall I would definitely fly Canada 3000 again, and I'm sure the new business class (Club C3) will be popular (wider seats, more leg room etc). They just offer you the basics and save you money by not dishing out excessive, trivial freebies. The modern aircraft (Airbus A330-200 for me) and friendly staff are not comprimised, so Canada 3000 can offer Reliable Affordable Air Travel!
Also, about 50% of the people I saw on the plane had used Canadian Affair (www.canadian-affair.com) to book because they are specialists for Canada and Canada 3000 therefore cheap and able to organise good Canadian packages.
