Well i went on Flight MU 565 from Melbourne,Australia to Sydney then to Shanghai. The flight to Sydney was about 1/2 an hour and we got served a disgusting roll with ham and about 2 strips of lettuce, a little cadbury chocolate bar and a drink.From what i can remember we might have got a little custard square with fruit on top of it also. Then the flight to Shanghai went for about 12 hours. To eat we had a choice of pork and noodles or chicken and rice. The food trolley came around about 3 times and only had those choices. For a drink you could have tea,coffee,sprite,coke,orange juice,water or pineapple juice. The flight attendants were okay but their english was limited. For the entertainment they have tvs up in the roof of the plane thats right!!! there is no tv in your seat. They show an entertainment show for the 1st hour then they play an american movie with chinese subtitles. After that they play the entertainment show for half an hour then a chinese movie with aussie subtitles then an american movie!! By the way these are pretty old movies! The planes seats on the plane i went on went 2-3-2 and they are very squishy. Their inflight magazines are mostly about China and are mostly in Chinese. It would probably help a lot too if you understand chinese because when they speak over the speaker so everyone can hear they go through it in chinese then in english very quickly. Also their safety procedure is done only by video first in chinese then in english.
When we got into Shanghai we were waiting in the plane for 30 mins because they had no gate ready for us. Also in the plane i went on they have no seatbelts signs and they have ashtrays in the seats!!! They also bought duty free stuff out but only for about 5 mins. The toilets smell like smoke and are very small.
