Newest Review: ... on every flight BA either broke even or made profit. The technology used in Concorde was and IS still years a head of her time, she did things NO "new" airliner can ever do........... Considering how fast and how far she flew her engines where the most fuel efficient ever made. The Concorde pilots and engineers i spoke to said she had many more years of life her............ If "men in power" had used their heads and continued to develop Concorde in to the future, the 2007 Concorde would have been bigger, better, longer range, greener, quiter and faster than ever before. She would have made the "new" Airb... more

There are to many negative reviews about Concorde, fact is she was and IS the safest passenger plane in the ever made. The Paris crash was NOT her fault, she ran over a bit of metal from a DC10 which took off before Concorde did. When it was Concorde's turn no one bothered to check the runway for debris of any kind. Concorde took off at full power, ran over that bit of DC10 which shredded the tyre and that caused the fuel leak, fire and crash. Concorde was never as expensive as people say she was ........... that was myth made by people who hated her or didnt know much about her. If she was as expensive as people say BA (being a private business which needs to ... Read the complete review

As we will keep on hearing about the tragic news of the Air France Concorde and all the unfortunate people that it has been and will be blamed upon until the crash report is released. I think that no one is to blame about the crash and it is just one of those frailties of technology in modern day life. Nothing is 100% safe or relies upon certain people to make it 100% safe, it’s just like a car breaking down. No one knows when it’s going to happen, it’s not the mechanics fault, drivers fault or the retailers fault. It is said that days before a pilot reported that the Concorde had back thrust problems, and then the next day a pilot refused to fly the ... Read the complete review

I think all of us we have heard about concorde disaster. Apparently the risk of explosion due to uncontained failure of rolls- royce snecma olympus engines593 that power concorde was first raised in 1976. A report by british aerospace suggested that in a case of catastropic engine failure a fragment of hot metal could enter the fuel tank causing explosion. Rarely for civil aircfaft, concorde four engine are embedded in the wings next to the fuel tanks. The risk was dismmised at atime as improbable. During his visit to the scene Air France managing director Jean-Cyril-Spinetta blamed engine failure as the the cause of the explosion. Aircraft experts confirm ... Read the complete review

The latest update to this tragic story is that the engine that failed and downed the Air France Concorde was in fact the engine that was repaired immediately before the plane's delayed departure. ENGINE PROBLEM DELYAED DEPARTURE OF DOOMED JET It now appears that the doomed Concorde flight had its depature delayed for a few minutes so that engineers could look at a problem with an engine. British concorde flights went ahead today but the French fleet remain grounded. FRENCH U-TURN ON GROUNDING CONCORDE FLEET WELCOMED Thankfully, now the French authorities have made a u-turn and decided to cancel Concorde flights ... Read the complete review
