Advantages: Best airline for getting to TRNC. Free drinks during whole flight. Good legroom.
Disadvantages: No inflight entertainment.
I had read some bad reviews regarding KTHY and was very dubious, but as the flights to North Cyprus are few and far between we decided to take the chance with Cyprus Turkish Airways. On arrival at Stansted I was dismayed to find our flight delayed for up to six hours (we were only going for 7 nights and had thought we had lost a day) but to their credit they bought a plane over from Gatwick and we took off just an hour and half late. The staff were very polite, kept us informed regarding the delay at all times and gave us a voucher to the value of £5 each for food and drink. The crew on the plane were courteous and charming and the food I'm pleased to say was very very good. They came round offering free drinks including water, pepsi, tea, coffee, orange juice several times. They do not sell duty free on board or do not have any in flight entertainment, but that didn't worry us at all. The seat pitches were excellent I'm 5'10 and my partner is 6'1 and we had room to spare, plenty of room to sit comfortably.
The return flight again was delayed by an hour and a half, but as Ercan is a new airport, the facilities are first class so had no problem hanging around for a little longer than anticipated. Again the crew on the return was polite and the food just as good.
The only inconvenience is the stopover at Turkey. Both outbound and inbound we stayed on board the plane and stayed on the ground for 40 minutes.
Would I travel with KTHY again? YES most definitely.
Summary: Good legroom, no duty free, pleasant staff.

- 24/07/05 As the guide responsible for new members, I'd like to welcome you to Dooyoo. A few tips to get you started on the site: Although there is no limit on the amount of reviews you can post, it is better to post no more than three a day, that way you should find that you get more reads. Besides, only three are visible at any one time on your profile page. If you read and rate around the site you'll soon find out what should be included in a review plus the other members will know that you are there and it should result in them reading reviews that you post.
A good idea is to write your reviews as though you are writing for someone who has never heard of the product, that way you cover everything. Another tip is to write your review in Microsoft Word and run a spellchecker before posting onto the site.
If you nominate a review for a crown, please DON'T state the fact in the comment thread...it looks tacky and is frowned upon.
You can ask any of the guides for help with any aspect of the site - they will be only to happy to help - and a list of all the guides can be found here: * http://www.dooyoo.co.uk/c ommunity/_page/advice_gui des/
