Advantages: Great Flight To Bristol

Disadvantages: Rude Staff

I have just come back from my Hen weekend and I have decided to get a couple of reviews done about things I used when I was away. To start with I've decided to review my experience off Easyjet Airlines.

I have used Easyjet before but it was many years ago so this review will be based only on my recent flights. We flew from Inverness to Bristol on Friday and then returned on Sunday.

We booked flights on the Easyjet website which was pretty straight forward but I will warn you to watch all the added extras you may want to remove as they have kindly added it on for you.

So Friday we arrived at Dalcross airport in Inverness and we needed to check in. We had hand luggage only and noticed that it was only one bag per passenger, we all had our handbag as well as a rucksack each but the staff was great and didn't even mention it.

On the check in we didn't need our references or anything which was a bonus, this meant with all our stuff I didn't need to search to the bottom of my bag for the paperwork (before you ask I wasn't organised!)

You can also check in online now with Easyjet up to 60 days before your flight is due. This would probably make life a lot simpler if you are only taking hand luggage with you.

Once we had checked in we decided to go through to departures as we didn't have a lot of time to wait. We checked ourselves into the executive lounge and it was just a matter of waiting for the flight.

Unfortunately on Friday our flight was delayed by half an hour which is the first time I've ever been on a flight that's been delayed. We were all in good spirits and we didn't mind the wait.

Finally we got onto the plane. The staff were friendly and helpful and we were told that they didn't have seats allocated so we were able to sit next to each other and then the other girls sat on the aisle across. Luckily there was plenty seats so with us being high as kites there was no one getting annoyed having to sit next to us all.

We managed to put our luggage in the overhead lockers and took our seats. For some reason I found the seats really close together with absolutely no leg room. It's been a few years since I've flown so I think it was just me as no one else seemed to be bothered by it. I am quite short at 5"5 so I'd feel really sorry for someone a lot taller having to sit in the seats.

The flight was ready to go very quickly which was great as it seemed even though it was late we were making up time.

Over the speakers the head of the cabin crew came on to advise that we would be leaving shortly and have seatbelts ready. Just after that we watched the crew showing us the safety measures in case of an emergency, even though I've seen it plenty of times before I watched it again. The thing that bugs me about it is when other people talk or read a magazine whilst the crew are talking. They are there to help you so I don't think they should be ignored whilst carrying this out.

All the crew seemed to be so well groomed with flawless skin in their orange uniforms. It's quite impressive to see them smile continuously throughout the whole flight.

Once up in the air the staff got onto coming round with the trolley so you could purchase teas and coffees. Everything is so over priced in a flight but it's not as if you can go elsewhere. A cup of tea cost me £2.50 and a bar of chocolate was £1. There was plenty to purchase including sandwiches, crisps and chocolate.

Once settled with my cup of tea and the in flight magazine which was kept in front of you in the same place as the safety instructions I decided to try and get more comfortable, but I found this pretty impossible.

The pilot came over the speakers and introduced himself and his co-pilot. He then gave us information on where we were now and how long it would be until we would start to descend. The flight was due to be 1 hour and 15 minutes and already we were flying over the North of England! How quick was that?

All of a sudden he said "and a big congratulations to Susan who is on her hen weekend and getting married in 4 weeks!" I know it happens soften but that honestly made my day, I couldn't of enjoyed my flight anymore than I did.

Once landed we left the plane and were told to enjoy our break by the cabin crew, I know they have to as it's part of their job but it is nice to start your holiday or short break in such a nice way.

So far my experience with Easyjet was better than what I remembered and I couldn't understand why the company had such a bad name. On with enjoying my weekend.

Back to the airport on Sunday and unfortunately things take a turn for the worse with my experience with Easyjet...

Checking in was a lot harder than Inverness, I understand that Bristol is a bigger airport but the Easyjet check in desks were the same for all flights which resulted in 6 check in desks with huge queues. Thankfully we had left plenty of time to check in.

Once we got to the check in desk the lady was so rude to us. She first asked that only one person come up to check in at a time so the rest of us had to go and stand away from her desk. I didn't understand why, then when she realised that none of the group had bags to check in she shouted us all to come back.

She looked at my and said "you can't have two bags. You need to put your handbag in your hand luggage!" I said to her that I would be doing this to which she responded "now!" By this point I was utterly disgusted with her tone of voice and scowl on her face. I told her I would put hand bag away before getting onto the flight as I needed it for getting my money out in the shops. Finally she checked me in and one of the others as well. To my disbelief she had only commented on my hand bag even though all of us had hand bags as well as rucksacks.

I moved away from the desk to wait for the other girls and was wondering what was taking so long when I noticed she was making them put there luggage in the hold to ensure it wasn't too big. Again I understand this needs to be done but why do it to us when our bags were a lot smaller than everyone else's?

It actually angered some of the other passengers waiting to check in with many of them remarking that it was utterly pointless. All I kept thinking was it was ok on the way down so why all the hassle now. The end of our weekend just stung even more than it would've anyway and we all felt extremely miserable for most of the day. Maybe if we were hyper or loud and noisy then I would've understood but we were all polite and quiet.

Thankfully there was no delays for our flight and when we got on the plane we were told we were going to land in Inverness 10 minutes quicker than planned which was great for us as all we wanted now was to get home.

Again the flight was great and the air crew were very nice and polite. The flight was slightly quicker than we thought it would be and by the time I finished my tea we were descending.

Getting off the flight was slightly different though as there was no friendly goodbye but the air crew were chatting amongst themselves. I couldn't believe the difference from one airport to another and it has really put me off flying with Easyjet again which is a shame as the flight down was so pleasant

Summary: Shame Bristol to Inverness let the company down

I have actually found them to be the best airline flying to and from Scotland.
