Advantages: Cheap tickets, good customer service
Disadvantages: No free refreshments on board
I often fly with EasyJet as my dad lives in Greece and they are often the cheapest.
BOOKING
Booking with EasyJet is easy enough. Their website is simple to navigate and you can view it in plenty of different languages. They don't have many destinations outside of Europe, but their destinations within Europe are plentiful.
ARRIVING AT AIRPORT
I usually fly from Gatwick to Athens, which is a bit of a pain to get to seeing as I've been living in Manchester for the past 6 months! The airport is fine though, plenty of check in desks and staff are always quite friendly. I've learnt from experience that they'll wait for you if your luggage is overweight and you have to unpack some things out of it!
BOARDING
If you have speedy boarding, or you're with children under a certain age, you can board the plane first. I never bother with speedy boarding, instead I'm usually in boarding group A as I check in quite early. I find that it usually gets quite crazy with people rushing to get to the front of the queue. As you probably know, EasyJet don't issue seat numbers, and this freaks a lot of people out- I'm not really sure why (unless you're flying as a family)! You're still going to get on the plane and you're still going to have a seat.
FLIGHT
There's no in-flight entertainment- there's not really much need for it though, most flights are super short. Even getting to Greece only takes about 3 1/2 hours. In-flight refreshments are ridiculously expensive, but I wouldn't really expect them to be anything else... It's not like you can go anywhere else for a drink is it?! I do think it's too much, a small bottle of water costs around £1.50. Just make sure you've eaten/drunk before you get on board and you'll be fine! They have some duty free items like perfume/make up/alcohol/cigarettes also if you want some retail therapy.
Overall, I think that EasyJet are a pretty good no-frills airline. They haven't gone as far as RyanAir with their charges, and I hope they never do!
Summary: Recommended for short journeys

- 12/06/09 Despite the complaints about additional charges, EasyJet can't get close to Ryanair's fares in terms of price ;-) |

- 11/06/09 Is it really that expensive on board? I don't think it's any more than the airport. Seen how much a bottle of water at WH Smiths costs lately? |
