Advantages: cheap originally but very dear finally

Disadvantages: untrained and dishonest staff

Once again let down by easyjet... In June 2008 our flight from Amsterdam to Luton was cancelled for technical reasons. We were re-routed to Gatwick with firm promise that free transfer from Gatwick to Luton (where our car was parked) would be waiting. Of course no transfer was arranged and we had to wait 3 hours in an empty airport and a long time on the phone to get a transfer. We were coming back from the Funeral of my father in Law.
My daughter broke her arm 2 days before flying on easyjet. We got a medical certificate stating that she was fit to fly however we did not have her cast split as the hospital consultant said it was unnecessary. We were refused boarding at Gatwick and told that we would were elligle for rescue fares at £38 for the flight the next day. We decided thus that we would stick as a family (one option had been for 2 of us to fly) since £38 sounded reasonable. We were told that the rescue fare could only be booked on the phone with the "Customer Experience Team" once my daughters cast was split. Went back home, got to the hospital, got the cast split and phoned the "customer experience" team... No we are not elligible for a rescue fare that can only be obtained at the airport within 2 hours of flight departure!!!!! We could pay £680 for the flight on the following day and lodge a complaint to try to get a refund.... Very helpful do you not think????
Complaints helpline cost £0.10 per minute- avoid as you will be spending money and get nowhere...
Conclusion:
1. do not fly easyjet- looking at the conditions of carriage you can be refused boarding if you have spot that look like chickenpox or if you sneeze that might indicate you have pneumonia... Any excuse is a valid enough excuse for Easyjet
2. if you fly easyjet get everything in writting, do not trust anything their staff says... Robots would do a better job than their staff
3. complain by using the question link on their website. Once your "question" has been filed you get the opportunity to get a phone call at no charge. Do not feed their coffers phoning their Customer Experience team that will put you on hold and tell you you are not entitled to anything.
4. If you get an answer from a "customer experience champion" do not trust it ask for a manager and print everything on the website questions page. They have a habit of deleting past comments....
Because of their cheap prices I have returned to easyjet twice after bad experiences. I will never again... I would have saved a fortune flying with BA and would not have had all the agravation.
I am surprised there are so many positive reviews for easyjet... Once it goes wrong it really, really goes wrong with no chance of your voice being heard. And by the way, if your flight is delayed or cancelled get some compensation via euclaim.co.uk.
GOOD LUCK AND MAY THE EASYJET STAFF FEEL PROUD OF BEING PART OF SUCH A GREAT COMPANY.

Summary: USED AT YOUR OWN FINANCIAL OR SANITY PERIL
