Advantages: Cheapish.
Disadvantages: Treated like rubbish and totally disorganised.
Easyjet are from being easy. I recently had flight with Easyjet from London Stansted to Ljubljana.
Farce sums up the experience from beginning to end. I understand that Easyjet are offering cheap tickets (which aren't that cheap anymore compared to BA) and advance seat booking is not offered as standard but the way we were all treated in London Stansted was something else! We all arrived on time at the gate then the Easyjet steward in charge was really aggressive towards us and shouted "get into your designated isles" (that being the A, B, C & D letters you are given when you check in that determines when you will be seated, A being the first onboard and D being last on board). There was some confusion with some passengers as to what the letter was on their tickets and asked the steward in charge for assistance and she bluntly said" are you stupid or something". To say I was shocked was an understatement!
Whilst on board the plane we discussed what we had just observed and what we should do about it. Many of the passengers on board were seasoned travellers (unlike myself and I wanted to make sure that this wasn't common before I made a complaint). It was decided that we would all write letters of complaint on return to the UK.
My return back to the UK however was far from a better experience. At Ljubljana airport we were delayed for five hours, we could see our plane sitting there! After asking the steward representative from Easyjet what was the problem was she replied with "how am I meant to know", which was not the answer I was looking for. After the five hour wait we were finally called to our gate and the usual cow heading into the A - D isles took place. This process took over thirty minutes. Then out of nowhere a bus arrived at the gate to take us to the plane! What was the whole thirty minute isle setup all about if everyone from A - D then proceeded onto the bus just to be let out at the base of the plane in a totally chaotic unorganised rabble. Farce sums up that leg of journey!
So what of all the letters we wrote to Easyjet?
According to the customer services representative that replied, the steward on the outward bound leg has been suspended and they were sorry for any inconvenience caused.
I don't care how cheap Easyjet are, it's doesn't cost them anything to be polite, unless that is another hidden extra we are going be charged for, I can see it now on the Easjet website:
Do you want Easyjet to be polite to you for only £14.50? YES/NO
Avoid at all costs.
Summary: Avoid unless you have thick skin.

- 10/08/09 Courtesy should cost nothing and I would expect it no matter how much I had paid. Shem we don't see this side to Easyjet on their TV show , it's always the customers who are rude in that. :-) |

- 10/08/09 Excellent review it made me laugh. I hope the steward was suspended by the neck. Obviously customer care was at the forefront of her training. |
