Advantages: rescue flight, cheap tickets
Disadvantages: time keeping
easyJet gets mixed press and is often tarnished with the same brush as Ryanair.
A couple of months ago though they were a beacom of light and also showed their value in comparison with other more premium carriers.
Earlier this year we were on our way back from a wedding in Belfast when due to a security scare the main road between the city and the airport was closed. The net result of this is that we were all going to be delayed and miss our flights. Some of us were on the easyJet flight, others were travelling with bmi baby.
On the coach on the way to the airport we called easyJet and were told that they would be able to offer us a rescue flight - the cost of this would be approx. £30 and would be put on the London bound flight - about 2 hours later that day. The guys flying bmi baby were told that if they missed the flight they would have to buy a new one at a cost of £150 and there was not another one until the following evening so they would need to find accomodation for the night.
This experience opened our eyes to benefits of flying easyJet and contradicted alot of the bad press that the airline gets. By flying with them we were less out of pocket and we were still back at work as planned.
Summary: cheaper tickets that didn't compromise service
