Advantages: Cheap and cheerful
Disadvantages: N/A
When me and my girlfriend went to Venezia on holiday we decided that in order to keep our budget down (we are both university students) we would fly with easyJet from East Midlands Airport. We booked it online using easyJet.com and to be honest I was quite anxious that we had taken a risk in booking our flights with a low-cost airline. The booking process can be quite confusing and a word of advice I would give is to give EVERYTHING a good read over before you click that confirm button.
However I am very glad we did choose easyJet as they were absolutely fantastic! We arrived at the airport and there was no queue for the check-in so we simply walked up, gave them our bags and ticket info, was presented with our boarding cards and that was it! We no had 3 and a half hours to kill!
Boarding seems to be the only part where easyJet is slightly let down, passengers are let on in priority order; those with disabilites and who have paid extra to be let on first so that they can find their seats are first to board. After that it is down to how early you checked in, if you checked in early enough you will be classed as priority "A" and will be the next group allowed to board the plane, however you still have to queue in your own priority group as there are so many of you! After priority "A" is priority "B" which is for those who checked in later.
As you would expect on the flights there isn't any in-flight entertainment or meals provided but you can buy snacks and sandwhiches from the cart brought down by the flight attendants. This was not really a problem for us as our flight was not particularly long. The prices for these snacks are quite high but this is something that is not unique to easyJet so I feel would be unfair to hold this against them.
On the return leg of our journey again we were 1 of the first people allowed to check-in and were subsequently put in boarding group "A". easyJet had been so efficient that we were actually allowed to leave slightly early as everything had been done in time!
Overall the flights cost us £75 for a return to venice with 1 piece of hold luggage which was fantastic value!
Summary: I will be flying with them again!

- 17/09/09 i would like to add that everyone would choose them over ryanair, except for the price. Where ryanair wins hands down. Money talks |
