Advantages: Low cost.

Disadvantages: No frills.

Easyjet was the first budget airline to make it big and revolutionised the way people book their flights and the choices people have. It opened up the opportunities for people to go on holiday and weekend breaks, much more often, or at a lower budget. On the downside, the availability of cheaper flights could mean more flights are occurring and damaging our ozone layer more...

I first took an easyjet flight four years ago. I was flying to Prague and from Prague and I had left it to the last minute. Flights with all other airlines were far too expensive, easyjet was about a third of the price. I decided to take the risk. It was a short flight, so if the plane was budget and uncomfortable then it didn't matter too much, and I wasn't travelling with anyone else so it just made things easier if they were disorganised.

I arrived at the airport and seats were allocated on arrival, in order of how quickly you check in, and therefore the number on your boarding pass. This wasn't a huge problem as I was sitting by myself, and I later found out the plane wasn't full. I can see this being a problem if you travel as a large group or family that all needs to sit together. Nowadays you may be able to book your seats specifically, I haven't checked, but one thing is for sure you would probably have to pay extra!

The flight was quick, and on time. The plane was new and therefore at a good standard. It was a little cramped, but you get that on a lot of short distance flights. I had no meal, which saved some money, but by the time I got there I was starving!

If you want no frills, then easyjet is a great cheap way to go on holiday!

Summary: You get what you pay for.
