Advantages: quick check in , friendly staff , cheap

Disadvantages: if you are not at the airport early you might struggle to sit all your party together

When looking for flights to Alicante for our recent family holiday , Easy jet were coming up cheapest by far , I was quite dubious having read and heard bad things about them and seen the old TV series , however I took the plunge and purchased 4 tickets as it was such a big saving over the other airlines .

You need to book the amount of bags you want to take in the hold and pay per bag (£6) so remember to add this into your cost unless you can get away with hand baggage only . There is no limit to the hand luggage weight as long as it is "reasonable" and it needs to be of the dimensions specified on the webiste , they do make you put it in a hole at check in and if it doesnt fit you have to book it in.

There are no tickets , you get an email with a barcode on to print out and thats it .

They also offer text message updates which we found useful to know there were no delays and you receive a text telling you chek in is open and boarding has started - useful if you are off duty free shopping and not looking at the screens .

Anyway , we arrived at stansted not looking forward to the flight but I have to say this turned out to be one of the best flight experiences I have had .

You can check in at any desk that is easy jet so just pick the shortest queue , the staff on the check in were friendly , fast and helpful , because we had a child under 5 and an elderly person in our party we were given special assistance boarding .
with easy jet you get no seat numbers you are boarded in priorty order
speedy boarding (those that pay to get on first )
special assistance (elderly , disabled , small children etc )
A & B i presume a and b are those that check in first half hour and last half hour or similar .

when at the gate the staff line you up like school children in your respective groups , and you board the plane in that order .

when you get on the plane you just sit where you want , i was expecting a mad scramble but everyone was couteous and considerate.

During the flight the staff were very friendly and helpful , 1 even took off her jacket and gave it to me to cover up my son who had fallen asleep .

They came round plenty of times with the food and drink trolley , although this was slightly overpriced it was no worse than any other airline .

I also found there was more legroom on the plane than on my last two flights with other companies which when you are tall like me is a big bonus.

I would definitley fly Easy Jet again , friendly , cheap and efficient.

Summary: Highly Recommended
