Advantages: prices
Disadvantages: service, delays
[UPDATED - see end of op] Well the story is already widely known. Budget airlines offer extremely cheap tickets as far as you can plan ahead. This also happens with EasyJet. Except from that, if you book your ticket(s) using the Internet, there will be an extra discount of £5 in a return ticket. The only bad thing is that the company does not give the traveller the chance to book a ticket more that 5 months ahead. I suspect that this is due to the fact that previously shown tickets were ridiculously cheap. I remember lasy year I booked 4 return tickes to Athens for £140!!! Of course, there aren't a lot of extras on board and if you expect to eat or drink during the flight, you will have to pay! Something that is not such a mishap considering the price of the ticket... However, for the last year or so I have realised that EasyJet is not only for cheap tickets. When you travel to popular destinations and the cheap flights have already been sold, you could still find a seat with a normal price. What is so convenient is that you are almost sure that you will be able to find a ticket on the dates that you specifically want, even if it is on the expensive side. ********************************* NOTE: For those of you that are not aware of during the last month EasyJet intorduced an extra fee when paying by credit card (Visa,Mastercard,American Express) but not for Switch cards. It is £3 and does make it wothwhile when you can just save £1 each-way on your ticket. Despite that, it remains the only company I have come across that almost never says that a flight is totally booked. Most of the times there are seats available, even if they are a bit on the expensive side. ********************************* [UPDATE 1/6/2001] Things are getting better and better at EasyJet. I flew with them over the last month a couple of times and the main difference I observed was they just started using their newly acquired p
lane; the Boeing 737-700. I have to say that it seems a bit more comfortable than the previous one. I learned that they plan in withdrawing all old planes by next year. Whoever flies with EasyJet, write me a comment about the new plane. ********************************* [UPDATE 4/10/2001] This air carrier never stops to amase me! I just booked a return ticket to Athens for £67! Is this good value or what? ********************************* [UPDATE 24/10/2002] Customer service personnel started being much more polite lately. I heard the other day en route that Stelios paid for his drink while flying with EasyJet. Nice'n Stelios!...

- 24/08/02 Nice op with the essential info. Took easyjet from Luton to Madrid, excellent price, good flight, no problems. I'm glad to see most people have the same experience |

- 01/11/01 I have had similar experience. Booking and paying is all very good. Flying from London Luton is not. There has been a delay departing and arriving every monday and friday for the last 3 months. Problems range form , too many aircraft landing, late boarding, no staff to escort us to the terminal to the usual No excuse. I think I have been using their 737-/00 (maybe it is the 737-300) and it is cramped and uncomfortable. The seats are not supportive, the aisle is noarrow causing delays when boarding/stowing luggage. SAS hev 5 seats per row not 6 like easyjet use. |

- 06/08/01 Hey, I was unaware that they did not use 737-300s before but found the plane fine although smaller than expected ( in terms of seat numbers). There was just as mush room as on the 747. I could not fault easyjet on my booking and journey experience, it was great! |
