Advantages: Cheap ticket prices, seemingly cheerful staff

Disadvantages: Tame food, could be considered a bit budgety

Egypt Air is the main Egyptian carrier, it has a wide range of internal flights which I've never used due to the air-conditioned coaches on offer throughout the country but they may appeal to richer tourists or people with little time.

I flew with Egypt Air from Cairo to Bangkok, I found the staff at the check in desk straight-forward and friendly, although it has to be taken in to account that the flight was on time and I had everything in order - it's difficult to say how they would react when there's a problem.

Egypt Air has some excellently priced flights and my ticket to Bangkok was quite the bargain, generally they have reasonably priced flights to the African countries below them, some to Europe and a proportion to Asia too. They have more or less been priced out of the Middle Eastern vicinity by budget airline Air Arabia but Lebanon and Israel are other well-priced destinations.

I have to say that I usually fly on budget airlines and don't have too much experience with the big names, it's usually the price that appeals to me and I don't seek too much luxury or a five course Cordon Bleu meal. This is perhaps, why I was fine with Egypt Air.

The seating arrangement isn't particularly roomy but I wouldn't go as far as describing it as cramped, the food is average - a chewy beef or fish concoction depending on which tickles your taste buds (or has already been used up!) with a bread roll and Egyptian white cheese. There was a TV screen that hung down from the ceiling, every few rows of seats - I don't recall a film being shown though and think I studied the flight route for the 6 or so hours!

The flight wasn't full, so I was able to sprawl my legs across other neighbouring seats. I bedded myself down with a newspaper and before I knew it, arrived in Bangkok.

Simple and cheap - I of course was in economy, first class offered a bit more leg space but due to the fact the airline wasn't full - I'm glad I didn't pay the extra (not that I would anyway lol)

Summary: I enjoyed it!
