Emirates was born just over 20 years ago as the official airlines of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Emirates is one of the most prolific airlines today with serving over 100 destinations in 62 countries around the world.

History:-
The company was found in 1985 when it made its first flight from Dubai with Boeing 737 and Airbus 300 B which were leased. The company started to expand its business by taking small steps into regional travel schemes and focusing mainly on quality, not quantity. This has resulted Emirates in having explosive growth not only in UAE but worldwide.

Facts:-
The government of Dubai saw Emirated to be fit to be treated as an independent business unit. Emirates has never seen a growth lower than 20%, every year. The Emirates group had a profit of USD $942 million in March 2007 financial year, making it world's third biggest international airline service.

Strength:-
Emirates today own 113 fleets which fly in 62 countries serving more than 100 destinations around the world. More than 800 Emirates flights depart from Dubai to their destinations in six continents every week. Emirates accounts 40% of total flights coming in and out of Dubai every year. With over USD $3.2 billion worth of order pending for delivery, Emirates is to become world's largest Boeing 777 operator.

Experience:-
I travelled with Emirates in October 2008 when I was travelling from London Heathrow to Dubai and then India. My experience was wonderful with air staff. The seats were comfortable than any other airlines with electronic touchscreen television for every passenger. These channels served music and movies in over 10 languages with over 100 movies and 2000 songs.

Moreover I was guided by one of the flight crew from Dubai airport to connecting flight since I lost my boarding pass which i got from Heathrow. I really appreciate their effort since everyone was stranger there and very few people know English there (except of tourists). I enjoyed shopping at Dubai airport. It is massive and has Costa cafe to Marks & Spensors, everything. I bought a Arabic style shisha pot worth 80 Dihrams which is equivalent to £16. I found that the airport is filled with migrant workers from Indonesia, India, Sri Lanka and Pakistan. Every shop consists of foreign worker. I heard the Quoran being rehearsed in the background, since it is a strict Islamic state.

Overall I had a wonderful journey there in Dubia Airport, Dubai, India and with Emirates.

Summary: Outstanding comfort, technology and service

My parents flew out to India recently with Emirates and it's good to hear that it's a good service as they're not in the best of health. I'm not keen on the stopover in Dubai so would probably try to source a direct route myself when I next go :)
