Advantages: professional customer service, entertaining interactive screens, pleasant airplane food
Disadvantages: Better in flight snacks
Emirates Airlines have been around for the last 18 years, and fly to many destinations including over 60 countries from its centre in Dubai to the Middle East, Africa, North Africa, Asia and Europe. Its website gives further details of its history, as well as details concerning the numerous awards they have achieved, their sister companies and additional services offered. I have flown with Emirates recently to get to Dubai and India, and must say compared to other airlines have been quite impressed. There are several reasons for this, as follows:- Customer Service- although others received poor customer service, I found that generally the customer service from the air stewards was good. We were welcomed when we first stepped on the plane, and showed to our seats. Similarly, when we got to Dubai airport the assistants there when checking in was equally welcoming and very helpful. One in particular helped us, very much out of his way in making sure we received our hotel and food vouchers when stopping over. Others on the flight also commented favourably on the service provided. In-flight entertainment - we flew economy, yet in comparison to other airlines, I felt the entertainment on offer was very good. The seating was comfortable, with enough leg room (but I have short legs, so don't know whether it would have been enough for a taller person) and something to keep the younger people very much occupied was the screens on the back of the seats. The main reason I enjoyed the flight was there was enough entertainment to keep me busy, ranging from the number of interactive games available including playing chess with another willing passenger, to films, television programmes and several radio stations to suit all types of passengers from traditional ethnic music to pop music. In-flight dining- we actually requested vegetarian Indian meals for our family, and it was tailored to our needs, and was pretty good for airplane food. Also,
plenty was given and there was a variety of soft drinks, and wines available. Snacks in the form of quite small packs of biscuits were provided on request throughout the flight. In conclusion I would definitely recommend Emirates for flights as their customer service was professional, in flight, entertainment and food was pleasing, and on whole was a pleasant flight.
