AirBaltic:
... from this region. Expect to pay around £100. The one time I had a flight booked with this company from Yerevan to Riga, they decided to cancel the connection and re-route me to Vienna with Austrian Airlines. Initially I thought this was going to be a great deal as Austrian Airlines are usually expensive but I was less than impressed when I discovered it was one of the worst airlines in existence with mood... AirBaltic ... is the national airline of Latvia - it is one of the only ways to get to the country and the region and the owners of the company (the Latvian government) know this. When AirBaltic first started, it was modelled as a cheap airline with good seats, reasonably priced meals and an easy check in procedure. Now you go onto their website and you find a RyanAir-esque experience. That is, you have to tick and untick lots of boxes, you get charged for checking in luggage, you get charged for checking in and more. If you want a meal you have to preorder it and it isn t cheap. Tall or rotund people will have trouble getting comfortable in their tiny seats. Making the b... Read the full review: Was good, not anymore by amullett |

Wizz Air ... are an Eastern European budget airline (of Hungarian provenance) who connect Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Turkey and even Ukraine (as for now I believe the only cheep flights to Ukraine) to Germany, UK, Italy, Sweden, Spain mostly (with single destinations in few other countries of the North/West). In the UK they fly from Prestwick, Doncaster, Liverpool and Luton at the time of writing. The airport naming convention is similar to Ryanair s (e.g. Katowice airport is sub-named Cracow), although they have not so far reached a cheek of Ryanair whose "Copenhagen" airport is actually in a different country! Avianca ... I flew with them on two return flights, once within Colombia and once from Quito to Caracas. Avianca has the broadest connections for the northern half of South America of any airline. Flights in South America are rarely cheap and as far as I am aware there is no budget airline that would match the likes of ryanair or easyjet within Europe, however, Avianca does offer reasonable value for money. Their flights are frequently the cheapest that I could find for travel around the Andean and Caribbean region. The airline is not very useful to get from Europe over to the Americas as it s only connections are to Madrid and Barcelona. Prices are on par with any other trans-...
