Flybe - prices rising and service plummeting (Flybe)

Advantages: Very professional, offer some unique destinations

Disadvantages: Baggage pricing, food pricing, journey pricing

I have a convenience factor with Flybe, as they fly from the nearest airport to me. However, given the choice I would prefer to fly with another carrier. I remember a day when Flybe were affordable and offered good customer service. Those days seem behind them now as prices are crept up and up in recent years. Granted that the price of oil has affected this, but this doesn't excuse the excessive baggage charges and inflated cost of food inflight.

In terms of flying they arn't bad at all. I have never felt unsafe and the staff are at least professional in a stoney faced kind of way. I wonder what it would take to crack a smile every now and then.

Where I think Flybe have lost their way is in their relationship with the customer. They arn't the only carrier available and people will travel to airports that are further away if it means they get treated a bit better. I can only speak from experience.

Summary: Professional, but hardly a budget airline
