Garuda Indonesia Airline

Newest Review: ... and full of smile. Food was good, selection of authentic Indonesian food/beverage/fruits adds special touch. My only suggestion is to redesign the dining set to make it look more modern. The ticket price was significantly bigger than other Indonesian airlines (I checked prices through Tiket2, <a href="http://www.tiket2.com"&g t;www.tiket2.com</a>), and, it must be told, when it comes to online booking service, at Garuda don't expect to get the same service as with western airlines. Their website is not really working, there are problems with getting the right prices, and the booking process is just a nightmare. So, I end up... more

The flight was short (Jakarta - Yogyakarta) so maybe that was the reason they didn't provide a personal TV, but cabin was clean and nice. Flights attendants were attentive, and full of smile. I flew one time to Europe from Indonesia using this Garuda Indonesia. The services from the staff was not really that bad at all. I arrived on time, did not have any delay. But something happened with me before, I lost the print out ticket because my bag was stolen. And it took me so many effort to get new print out ticket since I had to do several thing which was not really supported by the help desk officer at that time in The Netherlands. But after did some effort, I was able to get on time to my seat ,to fly back to ...  Read the complete review

Garuda Indonesia: Garuda - my favourite airline (116 words)

I have travelled with garuda on numerous occasions - I first used them due to their rock bottom priced fares. I flew around the world taking in the Far East, Hawaii & the States - the best feature was the fact the flights were only ever half full!! - plenty of room to stretch out and move around and relatively peaceful - unlike the manic BA flights I have used. The staff were great with nothing too much trouble - unlike the surly BA cabib crew I usually encounter. They don't have the best reputation but give them a try - I've not fallen out of the sky with them yet!! ...  Read the complete review

One of the few airlines that still allow smoking on their flights I recommend them as one of the best. With all the recent publicity regarding Deep Vein Thromboses being caused by cramped conditions on long haul flights Garuda give a great value upgrade (premium economy). The price you pay varies as to the company you book with. I found it ranged between £190 and £260 for return upgrades. The upgrade gives you a wider seat, with much more leg room and a useful footrest, Two seats where there is normally three in ordinary economy, individual t.v. screens with movies on demand housed in the wide armrests, improved service, luggage allowance inrease to 30 kgs. ...  Read the complete review

Garuda Indonesia: Most improved airline ? (105 words)

I would like to tell you about my own and friends and colleagues experiences with Garuda. I have always found them to be punctual. The upgrade to premium was only about £150 when I went to Bangkok, and I have never had problems with overbooking like on so called better airlines like BA and UA. They are the only airline I know of which let you smoke in international airspace, which is no use to me but might be interesting to others. I would definitely fly on Garuda again and I know others who would. I just wish they went from Heathrow instead of Gatwick. ...  Read the complete review
