Friendly airline, fairly cheap (jet2.com)

Advantages: Fairly cheap, friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere on board, you can pick your seat for an extra fee

Disadvantages: some hidden fees

I didn't know about this airline until January this year when I saw an ad for a competition to win a free return flight with this airline.

They had quite a lot to give away and I was one of the lucky ones.

Because I had to book the flight before end of September (valid until March 09) I decided to go and say hello to my Catalan friend in Barcelona.

Even thought I didn't have to pay for the flight, I still had to book a seat online (for £8 I think) to ensure I could then give ID info as required by Spanish authorities now.

On the way back I also checked in as I had honey in my luggage and that was another £8.

So there are extra fees as with Ryanair but the big BUT is that the staff at Jet2.com are actually lovely.

I've not come across a single miserable/non-smiling one as opposed to Ryanair.
The good thing too is that the airport wasn't miles away from the centre of Barcelona.

I'd recommend it and would fly with them again.
