Jet2's clever design of seat gives the passenger more room (jet2.com)

Advantages: cheap flights and good service received

Disadvantages: no tv entertainment but take a book to read

I've just travelled to Alicante with Jet2.com. For a low-cost airline I am truly impressed with the service received from the ground staff and the flight attendants at Jet2.com.
I myself used to work as a flight attendant for Virgin Atlantic some ten years ago and ashamed to say have held a snobbery towards chartered and low cost airlines. I have travelled with Monarch and Thomas Cook who were ok but Jet2 as a low cost airline were brilliant.
I think I was expecting a coach trip experience and was pleasantly surprised.

Yes you have to pay for your drinks and snacks but this did not bother me as the hot drinks were really nice and not the standard pot of brewed tea or instant coffee that I use to serve on Virgin Atlantic.

Before the flight we checked online and were able to see where we were sitting and had the chance to change our designated seat for a small charge but we didn't do this as was happy with our seats. We printed our boarding passes at home and this made our check in procedure much quicker.

On the way home we were on an aircraft that had just been fitted with new seats. I was very comfortable and felt that I had lots of leg room. This is because their new seats are designed in such a way that they don't take up as much room as the standard aircraft economy seat leaving more room for the passenger. In fact the space allowed for each seat is actually less than other airlines but thanks to the clever design of this seat the passenger benefits with more comfort.

I was very impressed with Jet2 and will definitely fly with them again.
