I last travelled with Jet2 on a plane to Alicante. I had read good and bad reviews about this company and wasn't really sure what to expect. We flew from Leeds and Bradford airport to Alicante.

The booking system was very simple to complete and took a matter of minutes through their internet site. Everything you needed to know is on the site and fairly easy to locate. Any other questions we asked were answered by a friendly advisor through their customer service call centre.

On the day of the flight we arrived in good time to the airport. This was a very wise idea as the que for check in was actually out the door (at least it wasnt raining!) Unfortunately we had not had the oportunity to use their online check in system so we had to put up with the que as a consequence. I would strongly advice where possibly that you use the online check in service as we were in the que for about 2 hours, not really the way I wanted to start my holiday however it was our fault not theirs! We eventually got to check in, the girl behind the desk was very friendly and apologised for the wait. She explained where we needed to go and after only a couple of moments check in was complete. The efficiency of the staff her was very much appreciated as we had a small child waiting in our party and they were getting very fed up with waiting.

We boarded the flight with no delays at all, the aircraft we travelled on was quite small due to the small number of passengers travelling however it was very clean the only thing that stood out was the very old looking interior, however this isn't something that I was going to complain about! The seats were comfortable, nothing too special however it was comfortable enough for the matter of a few hours, any longer than that and I do think I may have been stating otherwise.

Overall the flight was what would be expected from a budget airline. The staff were friendly and unlike most airlines we actually got sweets at take off and landing, bonus! The food on the plane was nothing special as like most airlines the prices were rather high and the food wasn't anything special. I personally would have prefered to eat before I got on the plane however that is only because I didn't enjoy the breakfast on the plane. Other items such as snacks and drinks are also available to purchase aswell as other items out of their brochure for gifts etc.

The plane journey was fine and we arrived in Alicante early. We had to wait a couple of moments for the buses to arrive and transfer us through to the baggage collection area however this wasn't a problem. Our baggage arrived fast and before we knew it off we went into the sun!

Return flights were pretty much the same nothing to complain about, ground and air staff were friendly and yet again no delays bonus!

Overall the value for money with Jet2 is very good, I think we paid about £100 for return tickets each which was alot cheaper than Jet2 competitors, I know now that Jet2 have lots of offers on flights you just have to time it right in purchasing them.

I agree with the other reviews I have read regarding the planes looking a little tiered and old inside compared to others, however this is a budget airline. The plane is clean on the inside and in perfect running condition so there is really no reason why this should be an issue, if you want a brand new sparkling plane unfortunately you will have to pay more with a non - budget airline!
