Advantages: speeding crossing, ran to time
Disadvantages: shabby plane, too cramped
I have only flown once with JMC and to be quite honest I really wouldn't want to go with them again. My girlfriend and myself flew to the Dominican Republic last year for christmas. It was the 1st long haul flight I had been on in around 10 years. We got away on time so I was quite pleased about that and yet again, as what always happens when I fly, we end up over the wing....so no view for us. Anyway we got settled in our cramped little seats which must have been no more then 16 - 17" wide and waited for our breakfast. Now the food on here was not too good at all. Breakfast consisted of - sloppy scrambled egg a crispy piece of bacon 10 baked beans (slight exageration) 1 tiny sausage 1 hard bread roll tea or coffee what made things worse for me was that the pull down tray from the seat in front was broken. It was on an agle facing myself so everytime the plane hit any small amount of turbulance my whole food tray almost ended up on my lap. I really can't remember what we had for our next meal but i do know it wasn't much better. The seats were set out 3 - 4 - 3 with hardly enough room to walk up and down...so if a trolly was on the move and you needed the loo...Tough. The movies were up to dat which i thought was really good. We had Chicken run going and gone in sixty seconds coming back. Unfortunatly the cabin crew deemed it the right time to serve our food half way through the movie...hmmm not a good idea so of course you end up missing half of it. The landings and take offs were very good and the overall speed of the flight went according to plan. The cabin crew also seemed cheerful which must be difficult to do on such a long flight. In my opinion they tried to fit too much into a small place and cut back on money in other places. The plane also could have done with a lick of paint as it seemed a little shabby on the inside.

- 13/08/01 Having just gone through the JMC experience I can totally agree with you on the space, the loo situation, serving dinner half way through the film, well actually pretty much all that you said. However, I don't think I have been put off for life, I guess I realise that they are a package company and generally they are much of a muchness. Mind you I guess I only went to the canaries, you went to the caribbean, I thought 4 hours was bad enough!!! |

- 13/08/01 Cramped seats and bad food? Sounds like every airline I've ever flown with! |
